Sometimes called the "ditch daisy," this aster is found on roadsides across the Eastern U.S. In Virginia, it blooms in mid-spring and produces pink flowers about the diameter of a nickel with a yellow center. Fleabane was prepared as an infusion (the flowers were brewed like tea) and administered as an astringent and diuretic. close window |
